We made it to the finish line...

3 1/2 mile mark was a little sketchy with some bikes and Cars not sharing the road...but we made it the rest of the way without any additional harm.

Joshua is KING of the Mountain with his completing 40 Miles and going over Paris Mountain! My Hero!

Thankful for a great day of cycling and helping a worthy cause. And meeting Chris August and listening to his music was awesome!

Follow up Dr Visit

> Today is 7 weeks from the surgery of my Collar Bone. Went back today and the Dr was happy with the healing. Let pain be my guide.

Chilly start but 37 miles later and 3500 feet of climbing...it warmed up.
Felt great to be back out on the road again.

Sunday (April 1, 2012) Hike no Nature Walk at Table Rock

We got to go and do a nature walk because the girls did not want to hike...but were open to a nature walk. We went on a 2 mile loop and got to see some water and rocks and some cool trees that the girls say look like the grinch.

I am looking forward to the next nature walk. And enjoying time together.

The Collarbone is fixed now...

So from December 18 to March 16 I have relaxed...waited on things to get better....after several sets of X-rays...the choice is do nothing and hope for something better in 6 months...or have surgery and fix the collarbone... And we have a winner. Que the voice over from the 6 million dollar man. "We can rebuild him!" and after an hour of surgery lots of screws a new tattoo ( i was worried about that) and a weekend of drugs I am glad to say that we are getting better....two days sober and ready for the rehab to begin!

Let's do this!

Not Healing

So after 2 months and 19 days my Collar Bone is not healing...  I am at a crossroads... surgery or waiting more for the bones to heal...  Below are pictures from today's follow up visit

If we do surgery it will be a general anesthesia and put a 3.5 mm screw in and a plate and some smaller screws to hold the plate in.  will be at least 2 weeks before I can get active again.  Dr said I have alot going for me being a non-smoker, good posture, healthy.  But for what ever reason the bones are not growing back to gether... guess my old age is catching up.

Looks like my plans and goals will be changing for this year...  but just glad to be around to change them.

Dr says 6 more weeks of winter...

He did say it looks good...but only light activity...have to go back to get looked at in 6 weeks...Hmmm...was hoping for better news, but I am happy for healing.

Youth Ski Trip to Wolf Ridge

Here are some pictures of this past weekend...Porter learned how to ski and did great! She gained a lot of confidence with every run. Although I wasn't able to ski with her, there were lots of folks who stepped up, helped, and encouraged her to ski. For that I am eternally thankful!

I am looking forward to skiing with her soon!
